Description
An arborglyph is any design or symbol carved into the bark of a tree. Ancient peoples carved arborglyphs into trees as longterm artwork or simply as navigation markers. The carving of a heart with a Cupid’s arrow and names or initials of lovers is a relatively contemporary custom. However, there are very good reasons NOT to carve into a living tree. The carving leaves a place for harmful insects to enter and exposes the tree to possible damage from disease. In short, it is just a bad idea to carve through the bark on a living tree.
This project is designed to look like a small section of bark with your arborglyph carved in it. The gentle curved shape allows it to stand on its own for a unique display of affection!
You can change and modify the carved wording to anything you like.
The project uses just the 1/16″ Carving Bit and the 1/8″ Cutting Bit. No other bits are required.
This is a BASIC LEVEL project and requires CarveWright Designer version 1.187 or greater.
